PETER LARSEN VIBORG
Concept, naming, identity and packaging design for an artisan microroastery
2016—2021
Peter Larsen VIBORG is a micro-roastery that sources coffee from small cooperatives around the world. The VIBORG brand has established its own micro-roastery, located in the heart of the old Peter Larsen Kaffe "factory" in Viborg.
The VIBORG brand is built around the story of the micro-roastery's physical and geographical location. I designed a logo typography inspired by old journals from Viborg’s local archive. The logo is printed in gold on paper to emphasize the history of the micro-roastery, which is housed in the old coffee factory. The label format is identical to the micro-roastery's floor plan at a scale of 1:1730, and the four rectangles match the four windows in the micro-roastery's roof. When opening the packaging, there is a booklet that tells the story of the micro-roastery, the cooperative where the beans come from, and a description of the coffee variety.
